Pennsy Days 2010 annual weekend will again be filled with interesting activities for the entire family, including exhibits of original work by railroad artists and authors, displays of memorabilia and collectibles, historical presentations, tours of locomotives and railroad cars, operating model railroads and other special events for Railroad Museum visitors. The event is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission and the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania houses the world's most important collection of historic, original Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives and rolling stock, as well as smaller trackside equipment and other artifacts. Tours of various locomotives and railroad cars will take place in the Railroad Museum's 100,000-square-foot Rolling Stock Hall. Tours of the outdoor Restoration Yard, also will be offered, weather permitting, and the Railroad Museum's popular and challenging Stewart Junction railway education center will present hands-on activities for young railroaders. The Whistle Stop Shop museum store will offer visitors an impressive array of railroading books, videos, gifts and unique collectibles.

Visitors may also wish to review a prior year's presentation by author Dan Cupper regarding the Pennsy's famous Rockville Bridge.
Visitors may wish to take advantage of other nearby lodging, dining and attractions, including the Strasburg Rail Road just across the road, the National Toy Train Museum and the ChooChoo Barn. |
